Role Descriptions

Running a summer swim team requires a lot of support from the participating families. When you register your swimmers for the season, your family will need to select at least one swim team management Role. Most roles only require your time for one of our many events; other roles can have responsibilities that last throughout the season. See the Family Participation Policy for a more complete description of the volunteer requirements.

Here is a list of team management Roles needed for the season, along with a description of the responsibilities.

Car Wash Fundraiser: Schedule the event, advertise the fundraiser, organize helpers, coordinate with the Four Seasons club house for use of the parking lot; collect donations of supplies like soap, brushes, buckets, towels; oversee volunteers on day-of event.

Computer Manager: Prepare for and manage computer responsibilities at meets.

Concessions Buyer: Purchase items for concessions at home meets. Coordinate with the Concessions Chair.

Concessions Chair: Leads and works with the concessions committee to manage all concessions operations for the team. This includes planning, selecting items for sale, managing revenue and profits, and working with buyers.

Concessions Pickups: Works with concessions chair to pick up concessions items needed on meet days including pizza, ice, donuts, etc.

Donut Days: Pickup, monitor and cleanup for donut days at practice.

End of Season Banquet - Awards Recognition: Order medals, trophies, and other items for our swimmers. Coordinate with coaches. Presentations are made by the coaches at the End of Season banquet.

End of Season Banquet - Coach Appreciation: Organize any gifts or appreciation for coaches and present at the End of Season banquet.

End of Season Banquet - Organizer: Coordinate the food, events and other volunteer help.  Held at our pool the Wednesday before All Stars

End of Season Banquet - Family Carnival: Work with coaches to organize pool activities following the banquet ceremonies and dinner.

End of Season Banquet - Senior Recognition: Plan something for the graduating Seniors on the team, to be given out at the banquet. Ideas include: making posters/banners/momentos for swimmers to sign, handing out special or funny goggles or stopwatches with Four Seasons colors.

End of Season Banquet - Setup, Serve, Cleanup: Help run the end of season banquet.

Kids Party: Coordinate the date, venue, food, events and other volunteer help.

Photographer: Take pictures of non-meet team events, such as the Car Wash fundraiser, the Ice Cream Social, etc. Signing up for meet photographer will be done on a meet-by-meet basis.

Raffle Organizer: Organize and execute a 50/50 raffle at meets and/or the end of year banquet.

Ribbon assembly: Work with computer manager to assign and distribute ribbons at morning practice after meets.  

Spirit Gear and Apparel: Look for sources of team merchandise, determine pricing, help web admin present info on team website, present sales at meets.

Sponsor/Fundraiser: Seek out sponsors and donations to support team operations.

Team Photo: Find and work with a photographer. Coordinate with coaches and the team to have the team photos taken.  Assist preparing team photos for sponsors, coaches, and the team bulletin board.

Team T-shirt Organizer:  Pick-up t-shirt order from vendor and distribute to swimmers on photo day.  

Teen Party: Coordinate the date, venue, food, events and other volunteer help.
