About Our 2019 Coaches
Head Coach - Austin Rider
Austin started swimming at age 6 for the Kingston Chase Fighters swim team, which he swam for until he joined Four Seasons as an assistant coach at age 17. He went on to compete at Herndon High School, specializing in the 200 and 500 Freestyle events, while also swimming for the Herndon Commanders year-round team for 4 years. Austin will graduate from James Madison University in May with a degree in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication. He is extremely excited for his third year in the head coaching role with Four Seasons, and is even more excited to get back into the swing of summer swim team!
Assistant Coach - Kimberly Watling
Kimberly graduated from Herndon High School in 2014. She attended VCU for her first two years of college before transferring to Marymount University to pursue a degree in Health Sciences, with hopes to continue her education on to physical therapy school. Kimberly swam for the Reflection Riptides swim team from the age of 9 to age 18 and served as a junior coach while swimming with them. This will be her third year as a lifeguard, pool operator, and swim lesson instructor at Four Seasons. Additionally, Kimberly has served as a HYS soccer coach for 4 years.
Assistant Coach - Luke Watling
Luke is attending Johns Hopkins University this year to study biology and medicine. He swam for the High School swim team at Herndon for 4 years and served as a team captain his senior year. He has swam for the Herndon Swim League since he was 7, but this is his third year swimming with Four Seasons. He also swam competitively on a year-round swim team for 6 years. He served as a Junior Coach and an Assistant Coach on Reflection Riptides, as well as Assistant Coach for Four Seasons last summer. This is his 4th year as a lifeguard and pool operator at Four Seasons.
