About Our Team
The Four Seasons Tidal Waves is a summer recreational swim team in Herndon, Virginia. We are members of the Herndon Swim League and compete against other recreational teams. We are a developmental team, which means we focus on teaching the fundamentals of competitive swimming.
- Our team is open to all swimmers ages 4-18 who are able to make it across the pool length unaided at the beginning of the season.
- Swimmers ages 4-9, unable to make it across the pool can join our Little Ripples program to build stamina and grow in their swimming ability, joining in meets as they gain proficiency
- You do not need to be a Four Seasons resident to join our team.

Practice typically begins each year on the day after Memorial Day. At the start of the season we practice in the evenings (M-Th). After Fairfax County schools let out for summer, we switch to morning practices. We practice at the Four Seasons Pool at 1201 Herndon Parkway. Swim meets are held on Saturday mornings (8:00-11:30 am) and Wednesday evenings (6:00-9:30 pm) from early- to mid-June through late July. Swimmers need to be at the meets 45 minutes before the start for warm-ups. One week before our first official league meet, our team will have a time trial (Four Seasons only) to establish swimmer seed times (and to help ease parents back into running a swim meet).
Family Participation: We rely almost entirely on the swimmer families to manage the team and run all of the swim meets. Please take time to review the Family Participation and Registration policies.
