    Communication with Pool Employees

    Hi everyone,

Our relationship with the Four Seasons Recreation Association (REC) and its employees is very important to the team. We are all one community, work closely together and are very fortunate to receive significant direct and indirect funding and support from them.

It is not uncommon during the swim season that issues arise that the REC and the Swim Board discuss and resolve. As co-President of the team and as someone who swims at the pool almost every day I have a particularly direct relationship with many of the guards and the REC. I frequently discuss things with them – there is a great deal of transparency between us – but recently some misunderstandings have arisen based on complaints made by pool users.

I need to ask that anyone who raises an issue with the guards or REC is careful to distinguish between something being raised on behalf of the swim team and something being raised on behalf of the individual in question.

I request that issues being raised on behalf of the team be channeled through Diane and me so that the Swim Team Board is aware and has the opportunity to correct any policy misunderstandings before it goes further. We are happy to pursue concerns at any time. But we wish to avoid our names being used in support of complaints of which we have no knowledge and which may leave the REC and guards assuming are made on behalf of the whole team.

These issues are pretty rare – the relationships between the team and REC are strong and each is aware that frustrations occasionally arise on both sides.

Looking forward to a good meet tonight!
    Thanks,
    Jeremy.
