    !!! All-League Meet RSVP Saturday 6pm !!!

Sorry for the late notice about the All League Meets (aka Champs and All Stars).

RSVP due - Saturday 8pm - please check your rsvp; 21 families have not replied yet

Our last meet of the season includes all the teams in the league.  Coaches need to have the entries in by Sunday, so you need to RSVP by the date and time above if you want your swimmer included. Please note that all families are expected to volunteer if you have a child swimming in this meet. See below for details about this meet.

Because we host the event, our team only runs concessions.  It's a much bigger concessions stand, so we need everyone to sign up online for shifts.  We also need a few people to sign up for the swim area manager job to help ensure the kids get to the clerk area.

Additionally, we'll need help Friday night, 7/22, to set up the pool area and concessions area.  Volunteers from the other pools will also be there to help.  With a lot of hands, we should get it done quickly.

    Details
There are 2 meets being swum at the same time.  To swim in the Champs meet, swimmers have to meet cut-off times for each stroke.  If the swimmer is not swimming in Champs, they are swimming in the All-Star meet.  Heats of a stroke for both meets will take place consecutively.  It really just appears to be one big meet. Two notable differences are the fact that there is only a mixed age freestyle relay, and the order of events is different (IM, Butterfly, Freestyle, Relay, Backstroke, Breaststoke).  To help clarify a bit more, here are some detials:

    -    A swimmer can swim in 2 individual events (plus an IM).  These events will be either part of the Champs meet OR the All Star meet.

    -    Swimmers will swim in the Champs portion for an particular stroke if their time for that stroke meets the published Champs cut-off time, or by default they will swim in the All Star portion for that stroke. A swimmer may swim one stroke in Champs and one stroke on All-Stars, or any combination of the 2 meets.  Placement in a meet is solely based on whether or not they meet the qualification time for Champs.

    -    Exception:  15-18 year old swimmers are all in Champs, there is no All-Star portion for this age group only (and thus no cut-off times).

More complete information about the meet can be found on the Herndon Swim League site at: www.herndonswimleague.com/LM%20all-league_meets.htm

    That's it for now!
