    Herndon Olympics 2017- important info

           Here is some information regarding  Herndon Olympics this year.  Please read everything completely and carefully as there is a lot of information that I am passing on.

     

    Volunteers Still Needed!!!

     

    We have 6 more spots to fill!!    The meet will have to be delayed until we can get enough volunteers, and the meet will not run as smoothly without everyone's help!  If something happens and you are no longer able to volunteer, please get someone to take your place. We have had a lot of people delete there signup.

    Herndon Olympics Volunteers - 2017

     

     

           Opening Ceremony:  The parent who is organizing the opening ceremony for the HO is asking that all coaches, and banner carriers (coaches please choose who you would like to carry the banner) gather in baby pool area fifteen minutes before show time.  Also please bring your team's banner.

     

            Team official Information:  

             Officials should have at least two years of experience and some level of certification, e.g., USA Swimming (PVS), NVSL, VHSL (High School).

     

             Uniform is white shirt or blouse over navy blue shorts or skirt with white shoes.

     

            

         Volunteer Report times/Sign In

     

         Volunteers should sign in at the volunteer table.  This is located at the entrance of the parking lot.

     

    Morning session:  Volunteers should report by 9:15

    Afternoon session:  Volunteers should report by 1:00 (***Note that this is a change from the approximate time that was originally sent out.***)

    Relay take off judges:  Report at approximately 2:45 before the relays start.  This may vary depending on how the meet goes.

    Road Marshals:  Report 5 minutes before your assigned time

     

    Meet Schedule: 

     

    Below is the order of events.  The time line has been sent to the coaches.

     

     1st session:

           Freestyle

           Backstroke

           

    2nd session

           Breast

           Fly

           Relay

     

     

     

    Additional information:  

     

    No recall on false starts (No second chances)

     

    Team areas:  Same as last year.

     

    Parking Passes:  See attachment.  If each team could print out three passes for their team to use. Choose three people that need it the most, and give it to them to display in their front windshield.  This can be coaches, team reps, deck officials, volunteers...  Parking will be in the lot in front of the tennis courts next to the pool.  The police will be closing off the road.  Please show the road marshal your parking pass and they will let you through to the parking lot.

     

    Team Reps/Heat Sheets:  Team reps can pick up their heat sheets at the volunteer table on Tuesday morning - these will be the allotted sheets for reps, coaches and volunteers that need them from their team - additional sheets will be for sale for $2.00.

     

     

    Olympic Clinic:  There are still slots still available for the clinic tomorrow.  Please pass this information on to your parents and have them please email [email protected][email protected]> if they are interested in attending.
