    Some Final Banquet Notes

    Hello Swim Team Families,

It feels like we just wrapped up time trials, and here we are in the last week of the season and Wednesday night is the banquet.

The format will be the same fun, informal affair we’ve seen in the last few years. The potluck dinner is planned to be ready around 6:00 pm; here is an overview of the timeline:

    1. We’ll let the coaches eat first since they will be doing almost all of the presenting. Please wait for an announcement before you head to the potluck line.

    2. Depending on when the food is ready, we will make a few opening remarks before or after the rest of us get our food. Opening remarks will be very short – promise.

    3. Once everyone has had a chance to settle in and eat some food, maybe for 30 minutes or so, we’ll start the real fun: the awards ceremony.

    4. Side note: food will continue to be served until 8:00 pm, then our volunteers will start clearing it away.

    5. After the awards, it’s off to the pool for some structured and unstructured fun.

    6. Swimming needs to wrap up by 10:00 pm, and we will begin final area cleanup. We’ll have several lifeguards on premises. They might offer their assistance for cleanup, but please remember – complete cleanup of the pool area is OUR RESPONSIBILITY, not theirs.

Some other considerations as you plan:

    • We will provide some water bottles, but other than that it is strictly BYOB (that’s Beverage).

    • We recommend that you bring some lawn chairs, blankets to sit on, maybe even canopies for shade. Sun screen and hats may be warranted.

    • Meet ribbons and team photos will be available if you have not had the chance to pick them up yet (photos will arrive around 7:00).

    • Please: if you're bringing extra snacks, no peanuts / tree nuts. We have several children with allergies.

    • Don’t forget your swimsuits and towels.

We look forward to seeing you there!
