Hi Team,

The Herndon Olympics swim meet is taking place on Tuesday, July 11. This meet is run differently than our regular season meets. I will be sending out more information as we get closer to the meet date, but here are some quick notes and a request for you to RSVP now:

• We are only able to enter 2 swimmers per event (initially), and each participating swimmer is limited to 2 events plus relays. Our initial entries must be submitted to the meet organizers by this Monday (July 3), so please see the urgent action item below. 
• The meet is an all-day event typically lasting from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on a weekday. We understand that some swimmers will not be able to attend due to scheduling. 
• If you have a participating swimmer, you will be expected to volunteer. Volunteering is not organized by our team; we will provide you with a link to a SignUpGenius web page. In addition to meet volunteers, we will need parents in the team setup area to help act as swim area managers, ushering swimmers to the pool for their events. More on this later.

Note on the RSVP: Unlike other meets, your RSVP for this meet only lets us know the availability of your swimmer for the meet. Unfortunately, due to the limited entries, we may not be able to get everyone into the meet that would like to go (in prior years, we were able to accommodate almost everyone, but this year they reduced team entries from 3 to 2 per event). We will have an initial meet roster on Monday night, and a final roster Thursday night or Friday.
